What I'm Talking About
What do you get when you take a lyrical beast bred in the streets of Houston, Texas and couple him with some of the hottest movers and shakers in the game? You get tenacious talent that is a force to be reckoned with, better known as Casino Redd. Born January 19th in Pensacola Florida, but raised in Houston,Texas. Redd knew that music was his passion. Loving the sounds of rhythm and blues and hip hop that artists before his time created; he knew that he wanted to follow in those footsteps of creativity but stay in his own lane and at his own pace. It wasn’t until the age of eighteen that he decided to focus, letting the street life go, and began writing his thoughts down on paper, creating music with raw emotion derived from experience. Catching the attention of artist, Z-Ro, Casino Redd was able to use his skills to feature on his album “Look at What You Did to Me”, before moving to Atlanta to make major moves.
Since eighteen, Redd has gone on to work with some of the hottest producers and entertainers in the game such as Mr. Lee (Producer with Rap-A-Lot), Witchdoctor (Dungeon Family), T-Mo Goodie and Big Gipp (Goodie Mob), BloodRaw, C.Wakely, Big Cee Jay, Big Amp, J-Holla, Sega Boys, Keith Clizark (12x Platinum Producer) , Big Perion and more! Motivated by his success, he founded Real Playa Entertainment where he holds many hats such as Vice-President, Engineer and Artist, and has already signed two talented artists to the roster, Skruggle B and Crucial Chris. How he accomplished so much in such a saturated market is beyond anyone’s guess, especially with radio spins at times being more political than talent-driven, however , Redd only focuses on his craft, motivated by being able to impact other people’s lives, allowing the music to “take you there lyrically without taking you there physically.” This he has done, and because of his tenacity, Redd has been featured on tracks with platinum artists as well as nominated three years in a row, winning “Slept on Artist” 2010, as well as putting out a blazing hot single “Throwd In Da Mix” under Team Mashn/Universal Music Group, with the icing on the cake: doing the music video in his hometown of Houston,Texas.
Along the way he has had some disappointments, however aside from academically messing up his chances of becoming an athlete to growing distant from a former band mate, his biggest loss was the murder of his beloved brother. Instead of taking his frustrations and emotions out on the world, he decided to let the pen do the talking and has now dropped his fourth mixed cd “Talk It How I Walk It” as well as currently working on a ladies anthem “She’s Badder” featuring JK. Coming soon will also be “What Da Business Is” Part 3 (Go Hard-n-Grind Harder), “Real Playa 102” (Guns-n-Roses), the artist Skruggle B “Polo Everything” and “RPM 5000” (We Outta Here) as well as his future album. If one thing is for sure, Casino Redd is a force in the music game and is carving his mark in every aspect. He is definitely one to look out for!
